ASC17 Supercomputing Championship

A six-member team of students from Warsaw working under the supervision of our collegue Maciej Cytowski competed in ASC17 Supercomputing Championship - the World's Largest Supercomputing Hackathon, a prestigious tournament for young enthusiasts interested in creating software for supercomputers. Warsaw Team took second prize in High Performance Linpack (HPL), category getting result 29.79 TFlop/s on a system composed of four Inspur servers each of them equipped with two processors Intel Broadwell and two Nvidia P100 cards.

The ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge is an international competition designed to enable young talented programmers to exchange experiences and to promote research and development on the use of high-performance computers and innovative supercomputers in all industries. Organized since 2012 in China, the ASC raises the interest of scientists and supercomputer engineers worldwide.
